Annual Youth essay contest
The Mukwonago Optimist Club presents our annual youth essay contest! The first place winner will receive $150, the second place $100 and the third place $50. The contest is open to contestants in middle and high school (grade 6 to 12).
For 2025-2026 school year, the theme is “How my acts of service help me understand what my community means to me”.
Essays AND an entry form must be submitted by January 14th, 2026, via email to mukwonagoOptimist@gmail.com.

ANNUAL youth Optimist Oratorical Contest
The topic for this 2025-2026 school year is "The Moment I Realized I Belonged - My Definition of Community" .
The first place winner will receive $150, the second place $100 and the third place winner $50!
The contest is open to any contestant under the age of 19 as of Oct. 1st, 2026. The application for this contest will need to be submitted no later than February 17th, 2026 to mukwonagoOptimist@gmail.com.
Interested youth should prepare a 4-5 minute speech on the assigned topic to be presented on February 24th, 2026 at the Mukwonago Library in front of a panel of 3 judges.
